The purpose of this meeting is to stimulate more effective collaboration among the shipbuilders, ESO, ONR, NSWCCD-Philadelphia, and the university participants in the ESRDC. It is clear that the existing processes are getting in the way of improvement in ship technology today and unless we do things better, this is a problem that will only get worse.
